ST. WENDELIN SENT MINISTRY
As disciples of Jesus, we are constantly called not just to keep the gift of our faith inside the walls of our church, but to share it with the world around us. Through the St. Wendelin Sent Ministry, our parish is stepping out in a bold, concrete way to meet, listen to, and pray with our neighbors, to introduce them to the love & mercy of Jesus Christ, and to invite them to a relationship with Him through the Catholic Church.
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring [the] good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
Our Mission
Sent Ministry trains evangelists to pray for, witness to, and serve those within our Fostoria community, accompanying them with a method based on baptismal identity and focused on charity.
Sent encourages every parishioner to take part in the mission of evangelization, by inviting each person into evangelist, intercessor, and support teams, according to each one’s gifts.

Different Ways to Be Sent

EvangelistsList Item 1
Step directly into the field. Evangelists go out in pairs into our Fostoria community to knock on doors, listen to people, offer prayer, and share the hope of the Gospel.

Intercessory TeamList Item 2
Be the spiritual foundation of this mission. While our evangelists are on the streets, intercessors will spend targeted time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament or at home, lifting up the team and the hearts of the people we encounter.

Support TeamList Item 3
Keep the mission running smoothly. This team will help prepare materials, prepare snacks for the team, create care packages, or other behind-the-scenes tasks.
HOW ARE YOU CALLED TO SERVE?
Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them: if prophecy, in proportion to the faith; if ministry, in ministering; if one is a teacher, in teaching; if one exhorts, in exhortation; if one contributes, in generosity; if one is over others, with diligence; if one does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6-8)
