"In our own time, in a world often alien and even hostile to faith,
believing families
are of primary importance as
centers of living, radiant faith."
(CCC 1656)
Parents - you have given everything in order to give your children everything they need for success in this life - but do you give their eternal soul as much consideration as every other physical need they have?
Will you lead your children to Jesus, the only One who can ever really give them the joy, peace, freedom, happiness, the abundant life that they seek, and Who makes all of this accessible to us primarily through the Sacraments & an intimate relationship with Him?
The primary
vocation
of a parent, your
primary responsibility and mission, is to help your children to become
saints! This is a dauting task, but do not fear! Our Lord will provide all the grace that you need, and our parish is here to guide you every step of the way!
Our parish Family Faith Formation program seeks to offer a place where this need can be met both for YOU and for your children.
Family Faith Formation
is
a
hybrid structure
for faith formation for the whole family, allowing for learning and prayer to happen both in community of our parish & at home in the context of the family each month!
Family Faith Formation:
- Helps your child(ren) to get to know Jesus
& to grow in faith, by equipping & supporting you in your responsibility to raise them in the faith
- Allows your child(ren) to be part of a faith community in a fun, family-like setting that helps them learn at their level & get to know other children their age
- Prepares your children for the Catholic sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation & Communion, and/or Confirmation
- Helps
YOU connect with other parents who also want to grow in faith, individually & as a family, for support & encouragement
- Helps
YOU to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus on your own journey towards heaven, while at the same time equipping you to bring your children with you
Children
ages 3 - grade 8 &
their parents gather a few times each month on
Sunday
for learning and study, community, fellowship, and prayer. Many
high school
YDisciple small groups also meet during this time.
Once or twice a month, parents meet for their own time of fellowship, prayer & learning, while children have their own session with catechists. There is a third opportunity each month for the whole family to engage in prayer and conversation together in the evening (Youth & Family Nights). Parent sessions involve presentations on the topic of the month, small group discussion, prayer, and a guest speaker once a month. See the links below for more information about opportunities for children of all ages.
Parents, if you want heaven for yourself & for your children,
Jesus tells us that there are
4 requirements for salvation:
1.
Baptism
(John 3:5)
2.
The Eucharist (John 6:53)
3.
Faith
(Romans 10:9)
4.
Doing the Father’s will
(Mt. 7:21023 & Mt. 25:31-46)
No parent would ever give birth to their child and then refuse to feed him or her - but many do the spiritual equivalent by keeping their children from the font of eternal life - Jesus, the only One who can save Who pours Himself out for us in the Sacraments (Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation), and Who transforms us to live in a manner worthy of heaven.
We cannot save our children -
only Jesus can.
Bring them to Him. Find out more about the opportunities that Family Faith Formation offers for you to do exactly this below.
