CHRIST CENTERED DISCIPLESHIP
Formation for the Whole Family
"In our own time, in a world often alien and even hostile to faith, believing families are of primary importance as centers of living, radiant faith. For this reason, the Second Vatican Council, using an ancient expression, calls the family the Ecclesia Domestica [the Domestic Church]." (CCC 1656)
St. Wendelin Parish believes that religious education is not just for children and those preparing for the Sacraments - it is for EVERYONE, no matter how old or young! We strive to offer opportunities for people of all ages to grow in knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church.
However, we also believe that the focus of our religious education program must be on the family - the domestic Church. We seek to aid parents as the primary educators of the children in the ways of faith. We offer opportunities not only for children and young people to learn about and encounter God, but also for parents to deepen their own knowledge and re-encounter Christ (or possibly even encounter Him for the first time!), so that they can pass on the faith through their own lived experience of a relationship with Christ.

All parents are invited to fill out a survey letting us know how your family has grown through participation in this year's Christ Centered Discipleship program, as well as how we might help your family to grow even more in the future! Parents also have the opportunity to find out more information about being part of a Faith Formation Committee - see the link below for more details!
