Dear Parishioners,

Some months ago I wrote about how I moved the rectory chapel upstairs, and renovated it.  I spend probably close to two hours every day in that chapel. What do I do there? You remember that a priest is committed to praying his breviary five times a day. The breviary is full of Scripture readings, psalms, and writings from the Fathers and Saints of the Church. So, I pray the breviary in the rectory chapel. I also pray the rosary there. I also get meditation and adoration time before the Lord in that chapel.

At my last parish, we created a "Pastor's Chapel Intentions" card, so that parishioners could send to the office any personal petitions, and I could bring these before the Lord during my rectory chapel prayer time. The school kids at my last parish sent intention cards each week. I want to provide these cards at this parish has well. Missie Kelbley has re-designed the cards for use at our parish. The office will collect the cards for me (either from the mail or from the collection basket). We'll print the cards in the bulletin for you probably once a month, based on space available. You will always be able to fill out an intention card at the office as well. Please make the intentions clear and concise, and legible. I will do my best to bring them before the Lord in the rectory chapel during my personal prayer times.

Have a blessed week!

In cordibus Iesu, Mariae et Iosephus,

Father Poggemeyer
