Habitat for Humanity is currently in need of students to shovel snow after each snowfall in the area of their current house renovation on 581 North Poplar Street.

If you live near here and can commit to this responsibility, see Sr. Teresita.

The St. Wendelin Prayer Shawl Ministry combines the love of knitting and crocheting into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace.

Prayers and blessings are knitted or crocheted into shawls or lap robes. After a special blessing, these shawls are then presented to someone in need, for example, someone going through a medical procedure or serious illness, or to comfort someone after a loss or during bereavement. The shawls become visible signs of St. Wendelin’s care and concern and God’s love.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the first Monday of each month at 7 PM in the Common Ground Room; the next meeting is Monday, October 5th. Students interested in learning more about this special ministry are welcome to attend the meeting or contact Cecilia Smith (419)435-4321 for further information.  Students can earn 8 hours towards church or community.

Service hours available - School

Due to the economic crunch we currently have less maintenance assistance at St. Wendelin High School.
To help remedy the situation we are in need of students who are willing to…

…Adopt a classroom!

Teachers are in need of someone to dump the trash, move the desks and mop the floors, wipe of the desks and boards afterschool.

…Adopt a job!

Other tasks are needed in other areas of the school also: wipe off railings and some surfaces with disinfectant, put the chairs up on the tables in the cafeteria.

If the job takes 15 minutes to do each day, you’d have 1 hour & 15 minutes of school service time in just one week’s time. However, some tasks only need to be done once or twice a week.

A one time job that needs to be done is removing
the snow scenes from the windows.

See Sr. Teresita to volunteer.
