St. Wendelin Mohawk Club
Constitution and By-Laws
Article I - Name and Purpose:
Section 1. The name of the organization shall be the ST. WENDELIN MOHAWK CLUB.
Section 2. The purpose and object shall be to cooperate and assist St. Wendelin Schools in supporting the finest athletic program possible.
Section 3. To encourage more attention, interest and intelligent action for St. Wendelin School athletics and related activities, School Advisory Council, Pep Club, and cheerleaders.
Section 4. To encourage our students to reach their utmost in functional health and physical development.
Article II - Policies:
Section 1. This shall be a non-profit and non-partisan organization.
Section 2. This organization will cooperate in all working agreements in St. Wendelin athletic activities - high school, jr. high and elementary.
Section 3. This organization will not seek to direct the administrative activities of the school or to control its athletic policies.
Section 4. This organization shall attempt to sponsor any additional activities or projects pertaining to athletics and to delegate the use of monies as they see fit.
Article III - Membership:
Section 1. All adults, parents, and guardians interested in the goals of the athletic program at St. Wendelin Schools who pledge to uphold the objectives and policies of this organization are eligible to be a part of this organization.
Section 2. Voting members of this organization shall consist of members in good standing as approved by the officers.
Article IV - Officers:
Section 1. Officers of this organization shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Section 2. The officers shall not be a head high school varsity coach.
Section 3. Officers shall be nominated at the April meeting, elected at the May meeting, and assume their respective duties at the first regular scheduled meeting of the next school year, i.e. July or August.
Section 4. The term of office shall be for one year, with no officer being elected to serve the same office for more than four (4) consecutive terms.
Article V - Duties of Officers:
Section 1. The President shall preside at all meetings. He/she shall appoint all standing committees, work in a supportive role with the Athletic Director, and perform all other duties usually pertaining to this office. The president shall also appoint an auditing committee who shall audit the financial books after the June meeting.
Section 2. The Vice-President shall assist the president and shall be the Chairman of the Nominating Committee.
Section 3. The Secretary shall keep an accurate record of all meetings of this organization and conduct all correspondence.
Section 4. The Treasurer shall receive all monies of this organization. He/she shall present a budget to be discussed at the first regular scheduled meeting of the new school year, keep an accurate record of all receipts and expenditures, keep the officers updated of the budget/financial situation, and shall disperse funds only when authorized by the officers.
Article VI - Rules of Order:
Section 1. All meetings shall be conducted according to Roberts Rules of Order.
Article VII - Amendments:
Section 1. Proposed amendments to these rules and regulations must be presented in writing and signed by the proponent. The amendment shall be given to the secretary who shall read it at two meetings. At the second meeting, there shall be a vote. A two-thirds vote of the officers shall be required for passage.
Article VIII - Inactivity of the Mohawk Club:
Section 1. The assets of this organization shall only be used for athletic purposes of St. Wendelin Schools.
Section 2. If this organization becomes inactive for a period of one year, the assets shall become the property of St. Wendelin School for use in the athletic program.
