Classroom
Rules:
- Be the first, never the last, to rehearsal.
- Always have the needed and required
rehearsal materials.
- Demonstrate desire, spirit, and enthusiasm for learning, working and contributing.
- Be one of those students who is always there and can always be counted on.
- Prepare and master your part of the performance in advance of rehearsal. Ask for help if necessary.
- Refrain from making comments or carrying on conversations during rehearsal. Talking is NOT conducive to productive rehearsals or superior bands.
- Stop immediately when a cut off is given
- If you experience failure, analyze it and make a plan to improve and succeed the next
time.
- ALWAYS give your 100%. Practice won’t always be easy, but don’t waste your time by giving less than your best.
Rehearsal
Guidelines:
- Required equipment: instrument in working order, ALL music (your own copy) and, most importantly, A PENCIL.
- Once rehearsal starts, talking WILL NOT be tolerated. Talking in rehearsal is not
representative of superior band programs. Raise your hand to ask a question.
- Rehearsal order will always be posted on the board. Please organize your music in that order before we begin.
- Most importantly, there should be NO TALKING during outdoor rehearsals.
Take pride and work hard in every minute of the rehearsal so that we can take pride in
our final
product… the performance.
Grading:
Grades will be determined by using a total
point system. Students will be responsible for concert attendance,
quizzes/tests, and for classroom participation. Students will earn a percentage
of the maximum points possible.
