ART IV
Advanced Art must follow successful completion of Art III,
and can be taken for either on or two semesters. Advanced students are given problems, which
must be solved using both their sketchbooks, in which they record their
research and their creative ideas, and from which they work to produce
projects. They are allowed to use any
media and whatever art supplies they desire.
By the time students complete four years of art, they
should be able to have an excellent portfolio of their work to present for
entrance into any art school, or for consideration for scholarships in the art
field.
During the first month of school, Art IV students spend an
entire day at the Toledo Museum of Art, touring the facility, writing a
comparison of two works from the museum, and sketching a piece from the
museum’s collection.
